A veteran of the Orc War, Bifur the Dwarf bears the scars of battle, including the remnants of an enemy axe lodged in his skull. Rendered incapable of speaking the common tongue by the injury, Bifur barks only gruff utterances in Khuzdul, the secret language of the Dwarves, and is prone to acting on sudden random compulsions. He is sometimes turned around or entirely absent of mind, staring off into the distance where some abstract notion has lead his thoughts to wander, or captivated to exclusion of all else around him by the intricate workings of the toys he crafts for his keep. When his cousin Bofur joins the company of Thorin to retake Erebor from the Dragon Smaug, he brings Bifur with him, as much to keep an eye on the eccentric old Dwarf as for the sharpened boar spear he wields. Wayward in wit he might on occasion be, but Bifur is a fearless warrior.
Weta continues the legacy of producing finely crafted, highly detailed 1/6 scale collectible polystone statues from Middle-earth. The essence of each character expertly captured in every piece. Bifur the Dwarf was sculpted by Lindsey Crummett. It takes a team of people approximately 400-500 hours to design, sculpt, model-make, mould and paint the prototype for each new character.
Sculpted and created by the same artists and craftspeople who work on our movies, Bifur the Dwarf joins our range of 1/6 scale characters from The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug.
